Application
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected QKI-5 in human cerebellum and thalamus tissues, and in rat hippocampus tissue.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected QKI-5 in COS cell lysates transiently transfected with Flag-tagged QKI-5 (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).
Detect QKI using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-QKI-5 Antibody, clone N195A/16 validated for use in IHC & western blotting.
General description
QKI (Quaking) is an RNA-binding protein that plays a central role in myelinization. QKI acts by regulating pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA export, mRNA stability, and protein translation. It is regulated by alternative splicing. There are at least 6 known isoforms, and QKI-5 refers to isoforms 1, which is the ′canonical′ sequence, consisting of 341 amino acids.
Immunogen
Linear peptide corresponding to human QKI-5.

Format: Purified
Quality
Evaluated by Immunohistochemistry in rat cerebellum tissue.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution of this antibody detected QKI-5 in rat cerebellum tissue.
Specificity
This antibody does not cross react with QKI-6, QKI-7, and QKI-7b. This antibody may cross react with other STAR proteins containing similar nuclear localization signals (Prof. J. Trimmer, Univerisity of California, Davis.).
